FREE Microsoft eBooks! Who doesn’t love FREE Microsoft eBooks? Well, for the past few years, I’ve provided posts containing almost 150 FREE Microsoft eBooks and my readers, new and existing, have loved these posts so much that they downloaded over 3.5 Million free eBooks as of last June, including over 1,000,000 in a single week last year (and many, many more since then). Given the amount my readers enjoy these posts and these free resources, I am sharing another post this year with over 130 more FREE eBooks, Step-By-Steps, Resource Guides, etc., for your enjoyment. Plus I’m also including links to the free eBooks I shared in the past so you have all of them here in one single post, making this my single largest collection EVER (Almost 300 total)! Please enjoy these FREE eBooks and resources, and be sure to pass this along to your friends, colleagues, peers, and others who you think would benefit from and enjoy them. After all, wouldn’t it be fun if we could surpass the 1,000,000 download mark within just one week again?
And don’t forget, if you don’t want to miss any of the FREE resources posts I share here on my blog or through my Twitter account, be sure to download my for Windows Phone. UPDATE: Congratulations! Thank you to all of you and please continue sharing with others as we’re closing in on 2 MILLION given away within a week! If you experience any difficulty downloading any of the books (like the PowerShell books as an example), check out my.
I have confirmed that the links for the PowerShell books are correct and they are working for me currently). You have created a great source of wisdom here, bravo!
I have downloaded a few examples and discovered that none of them were 'well-behaved documents', i.e. Not all were user-friendly (had bookmarks) and search friendly (had meaningful embedded metadata which would have allowed me to automatically classify them in my personal knowledge base so that I could rapidly find information when needed). Do you have any idea how this could be changed or who I would have to talk to? Best regards, john m., advocate of the well-behaved document.
To answer the 'single link' question, since the books are not housed in a central repository (some are in TechNet, some in MSDN, some on the MVP's One Drive folders, etc.) there is not a single location or link to download them all. I have posted them all individually so that you can pick and choose which one you are interested in. Also, since several of the authors update their works from time to time, it could break distribution policies if I downloaded their works and then distributed them separately vs. Pointing to where they have them housed so they can control content and versioning.
(For instance, the author of the Windows 7 Power Users Guide chose to distribute through Lulu now, so I changed the link to point to his new distribution point instead of propping up a downloaded version to another server). I know it may take a little longer to download this way, but it is the best way available.
